Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you check a site or submit a problem report, we record: the domain you checked, the timestamp, and an irreversibly-hashed version of your IP address (SHA-256 with a server-side salt). We do not log your raw IP, browsing history, or any personally identifying information.

2. Why we hash your IP

The hash lets us deduplicate reports (so one person can't spam reports) and detect when a new website has been checked by enough unique visitors to be indexed. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP.

3. Cookies & analytics

Down Checkr does not use advertising or tracking cookies. For anonymous, aggregate traffic statistics we run a self-hosted, cookieless Plausible Analytics instance. It does not set cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites.

4. Third parties & infrastructure

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing. The site runs entirely on Cloudflare — the app on Cloudflare Workers, data in Cloudflare D1, and caching in Cloudflare KV — which processes requests as our infrastructure provider under its own privacy terms.

Our What Is My IP Address tool sends your IP address to ipinfo.io to look up its approximate location and network provider, so the result can be shown to you. This lookup is performed only when you use that tool, and the data is not stored by us.
