Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you check a site or submit a problem report, we record: the domain you checked, the timestamp, and an irreversibly-hashed version of your IP address (SHA-256 with a server-side salt). We do not log your raw IP, browsing history, or any personally identifying information.

2. Why we hash your IP

The hash lets us deduplicate reports (so one person can't spam reports) and detect when a new website has been checked by enough unique visitors to be indexed. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your IP.

3. Cookies

DownCheckr does not use tracking cookies. We may use a single technical session cookie for site functionality.

4. Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Supabase for the database; both have their own privacy policies governing infrastructure.
